Have you been to The Morgue? Then share photos of your experience!

The Morgue is a 1920s School building. In 1929 a deadly influenza epidemic swept through the area, leaving scores of people dead. Families and authorities were too overwhelmed with the volume of deaths to be able to bury and care for the deceased in a timely manner. School instruction was abandoned, and the school was set up as temporary Morgue facility, with bodies housed throughout the the three floors.

No one knows exactly what happened, but the legend says that one day when the newly deceased were being dropped off, all the bodies were gone, and reports of zombies roaming the school and grounds have been told ever since.

Two children who went to investigate the report were apparently bludgeoned to death with a broomstick from the janitor’s closet. Some say the laughter and footsteps of children can still be heard, even when no one is around. The woman who held the key to the temporary morgue is reported to have been sighted at the door, still guarding the zombies inside and luring in new flesh for them to eat. Visitors lucky enough to survive call her the Morgue witch. Be nice to her, as she holds the key for you to get in…and to get out.

Others you may encounter are the corpse bride, Leatherface and the black and white zombie of the woods, and the twisted boy, who can wrap his leg around his head. They are eager for you to visit. But not so eager for you to leave.

  • Could be better

I'll give it 3 stars because two of the rooms were very was a completely white filled haze, couldn't see anything, and the other appeared like you were walking through electric water...very neat. I also liked the moving "elevator" at the beginning, and the bonfire for the wait is better than just standing in line. That's as far as my amazement went though. After you pay, you walk through the woods to get to the waiting area. A dark, scary woods, and not one scare through the whole walk. A chainsaw at the very end, but you could hear it the whole way, so not exactly frightening. Inside wasn't much better. The decor was great, costumes were great, but I never screamed...and I'm a wimp. The ghouls weren't really hidden the best, and at times would already be peering around the corner staring at you before you entered the if just seeing them was supposed to be scary. Maybe for kids, but as adults it was unimpressive. There were quite a few rooms that had nothing but decor. Tons of perfect hiding spots that were empty. A lot of boring, tight hallways to walk through with nothing hiding in the least drop a spider on me or something! The slide at the end was a cool touch, but it was a slow slide, and we hit the connecting point in the middle which stopped us with a thud. Couldn't get going fast enough to get down at that point, so we walked down the slide. You exit into an old school bus. Years ago they had chainsaws at the bottom of the slide, and would "trap" you in the bus...I remember that being the highlight then, but that wasn't even there this time. Just an empty bus with no saws, no people hiding in the seats...boring. For me, it wasn't worth $15. Maybe spend a little less on the costumes, and hydraulics, and get back to basics. Grown ups aren't afraid of fake body parts in freezers, and make-up...they're freaked out by suspense, and good old fashioned surprise....this haunted house was more just walking through, and saying "Watch your step.", and "Oh, that's kinda cool.", with a few small gasps in between.

  • awesome

I drove an hour to come see this haunt. The way it was laid out was great . A big bonfire out front and music videos playing to keep you entertained before you go in was a nice touch. When you go in your given so many different scenes to walk through. The fact that they utilize so many different floors...and the end...and zing great job guys
