St. Kilian's Catholic Cemetery
Lake Geneva, WI 53147
A ghostly priest is said to haunt this cemetery, along with the sounds of a ringing bell, mysterious mists, eerie sounds and footsteps. The bell is believed to be from a phantom church that used to stand nearby before it burned down decades ago. Stories say that the basement of the church was once used for devil worship, leading to the dangerous paranormal activity here.

So the story is said that the man who hung himself there roams and haunts the cemetery, which may be!! However I am forced to believe that this beyond eerie cemetery houses MANY spirits/haunters!! We used to venture up there by the car load when we were teenagers...I dont think ANY OF US were brave enough to go with just two of us, we needed a bunch of us just to feel "safe"...though I dont think they ever were trying to harm us, but to scare us is putting it mildly!! One night one of our 'guy' friends actually shit his drawers!!!! No joke!! I believe that was the night we were horsing around and chasing each other etc... and suddenly a thumping noise and sensation came from u der us...it wasnt just in one Lil area it was like the earth was knocking under our feet!!! We all ran so dang fast n I believe thats when our friend crapped his pants. Lol so then us girls hopped in the open bed if the truck and guys all in front we sped out of there and if you've ever been there its a rather long drive way w trees on both sides. So guys thought they'd be jokesters n knock on the door of the truck just one loud hard BANG...n then again only louder...BANG!!!! n of course we squeeled in fear what w what we all just witnessed....and one more time BANG!! but this time a 2nd BANG came directly after the first n this time the guys are the ones SCREAMING and the truck goes faster n faster n didnt slow down until we were completely out if the town itself!!so they all swear they saw the same thing. They smacked the door making their final BANG, but the BA N G to immediately follow the say was a quick flash of a human skull hitting the windshield that must've fell from a tree. Idk what they saw, but I DO know they never went up there again!!

Me and a couple friends went back in the day while the church was still standing, 2004 ish. It was dark, with no moon. We tried to take some photos inside the church and outside in the cemetery but despite having fresh batteries and roll of film, the camera wouldn’t work. When we heard the faint sound of a bell, we were sufficiently spooked and decided to leave. My car sputtered when trying to start it which never happened. It eventually started and we hightailed it out of there. Once we got back to my friends house and we were saying our goodbyes the camera out of nowhere took all 24 photos by itself. That was all the proof we needed to confirm it’s haunted.

Not sure if the rumors that it was a Satanic Church have any truth, probably not. But people going there desecrating the headstones/metal crosses or screwing around in the Church's basement with Satanic stuff for kicks has had an effect. I went around sunset it has a very weird feeling, on the west side by the old graves. Any graveyard (or cemetery) that has its headstones vandalized will become active at least for a while. St. Kilian's was constantly being vandalized, even the Jesus on the Cross had "666" painted in red on it. It also since I was young was popular as a place to go for its haunted reputation. If you go around sunset it is creepy enough. If you go at night you more than likely till be caught, it is watched now like crazy. You will either get a ticket for trespassing (the hours are sunrise to sun set), or chased down by a group of locals who are upset with the vandalism.
