This really is a one-of-a-kind attraction. You certainly pay handsomely for it and it has its flaws but its amazing nonetheless. It all starts in the historic boathouse in Downtown Dells, where you line up and get ready to head down to the waterfront through old, twisty tunnels.Once on the boat you head out upriver for a lovely 15 minute ride to Witch's Gulch where a fantastic haunt is produced in the woods...but the line control is ABYSMAL. It takes a lot of work to separate yourself from the rest of the crowd, but even if you manage to do so, once you reach the turnaround point forget about it. Last time I was there it was wall-to-wall people with zero movement for at least 10 minutes. Really blows the immersion. There's a separate path back for some of the way which is nice. Once you make it back to the boat it's another nice ride back to the dock. While it's pretty expensive, I do this every year and love it a lot. I just wish they could figure out how to control the crowd at the midway point. ...I also wish they could bar the typical local trailer trash that shows up drunk and ruins the ride for everyone, but that's another story completely...one I'm sure you don't need to hear if you've ever been up to the area.
