Elsing's Second Hand Shop
Stoughton, WI 53589
This building dates back to 1891 and was once a private residence, a hotel and a restaurant. The location is believed to be haunted since the turn of the 20th Century.
Witnesses have reported hearing sounds of glass breaking on the second floor, but upon investigation, nothing is broken. Many believe this recurring incident is attributed to the death of the town police chief, who killed himself by jumping from the upper level of the building, breaking a window.
A young girl is also said to haunt the place, wearing an old-fashioned dress. She has been heard crying when the place is closed up for the night.
