Appleton's Owaissa Street is known for its haunted stories, likely because of Riverside Cemetery being located there. Local legend says there is a tombstone for Kate Blood at the cemetery that bleeds on nights there is a full moon. Stories say that Kate was a witch that murdered her whole family, while others say she was also a victim. Despite these tales, Kate was actually a beloved member of the community who passed away from tuberculosis.
