James Sheeley House
Chippewa Falls, WI 54729
This building dates back to the 1860's and was once a blacksmith shop, a saloon and a boarding house. Built by John B. Paul, the name comes from Irish immigrant, James Sheeley who, with his wife Kate, purchased the building in 1905 and took over. The building was being cleaned and touched up in 2001 and the new owner was surprised to find that when he tried to over a mural in the foyer, the roses in the painting kept bleeding right through the primer until he gave up on the project. When he stained the stairs, unexplained footprints appeared on them the next day.
